4th Of July Backyard BBQ Party

For this 4th of July I wanted to create a really fun and festive outdoor barbecue party. With festive colors to bring stars and stripes to the table . The perfect excuse to gather family and friends for a nice outdoor barbecue. Whether you plan to host an indoor or outdoor party here is some inspiration from table settings, preparations tips, down to easy food to make your 4th of July spark.

Tablescape

For my tablescape setting I used a white linen and placed a patriotic American flag runner down the center of the table, and then placed a large glass vase (navy blue with rope detailing), with two small flower arrangements on the sides as well as two lanterns on each side .

I love to include in any table setting, regardless of how formal or informal, a charger plate beneath the dinner plate. So for this occasion I used a round jute placemat, navy blue plastic dinner plate and blue cups for a pop of color, along with this beautiful rectangular palm leaf plate made from naturally fallen palm, plus festive wood cutlery with red stripes.

To keep the stars and stripes on the table, I lay an American Flag Star Napkin on top of my rectangular palm plates, and got a bit creative by making a DIY rope napkin rings.

Dessert Table

For my dessert table I styled it with easy patriotic treats, and festive decorations. I used a Happy 4th of July banner and some tassel garland with poms poms with some pinwheel decorations. On the sides I hung “USA” and “BBQ” signs. I hung up a star garment on the table.

For snacks, I made this Stars and Stripes Patriotic Jell-O with one big navy blue star in the middle and little ones all around, and 4 individual mini Jell-O dessert bowls as well. They are super easy to make. Just allow time for different layers to set up. I wanted to have more fruits available as well so I displayed a mix of red, blue, and white fruits. I used watermelon, strawberries, blueberries and jicama, and I also made delicious s’more star cookies with sprinkles.

For the decor on the table I used a small American Flag on one side of the table, I placed a navy blue star sign and a glass vase flower arrangement.

I made this s’mores start cookies with store bough cookie dough and fill them with marshmallow cream and added some sprinkles.

Food Preparations

For the food we knew that smoked barbecue baby back ribs would take a least 2 to 3 hours to cook. So we had plenty of time to prepare the side dishes. While my husband marinated the baby back barbecue ribs for the smoker, I started to prepare the side dishes. I made a sweet kale coleslaw, mashed potatoes, and grilled some corn. This 4th of July BBQ was made easily so we could enjoy time with family and friends. With my husband’s help, we were able to create this BBQ dinner that was not only delicious, but took less time cooking for more quality time together.

Inspired from these beautiful palm leaf plates, I displayed my food, dessert and snacks on various shapes and sizes of palm leaf plates from Dtocs. Creating the perfect woody texture look that made them look even more elegant plus went perfectly with an outdoor barbecue look, while still being a sustainable way to serve these delicious food, desserts and snacks. This plates are very sturdy, microwave safe, while being totally chemical free! The best feature is you can burn tableware in the fire pit as they are leaves. These can easily be converted into compost, anything that help our planet is a big plus.
