Today I’m sharing my own DIY Santa and Reindeer crackers with free printable template’s. These DIY Christmas crackers are so much fun to make, especially during this Holiday season. Making your own DIY crackers is a great way to add your own unique gifts, while also matching them to your theme. Christmas crackers are party favors that are filled with goodies.
Now let’s learn how to make Christmas cracker using this FREE printable cracker template
Supplies :
- Printable cracker template
- Cardstock paper (colors red, brown, white and black)
- Paper trimer or scissors
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Glue gun
- Santa and Reindeer gift tags
- Pom poms
- Gold tape or gold paper
How to make Christmas cracker :
Download and print out the cracker template.
Cut out your cracker shape as show on the picture. (only cut out one side in a straight line)
Use a ruler and score along all the dotted scored lines.
Fold along middle scored lines on each side. Use scissors to cut out the diamond shapes.
Now it’s time to add a cracker snap. Use glue to attach the cracker snap to the edge of the cracker.
Next, use a white marker and color one side of the triangles, then use a black marker to color the other side.
Overlap one of the sides and glue your cracker together.
Tie one end and close with ribbon or twine.
Fill the cracker with the fun goodies! Tie the opposite ends and close. I added these cute personalized “HO HO” crayon letters inside the cracker, you can find these crayon letters @popofgold. Then I also added a Christmas eraser, jokes, and a hair accessory.
Now it’s time to personalize your own Christmas cracker!! I made these cute Santa and Reindeer crackers to match with my Christmas theme party!!
For Santa’s cracker, I used red cardstock paper to print out my template, then I just cut and glued some black paper for his boots and white for his head. I attached the Santa gift tag on the white part of the cracker and added a white pom pom on his hat. I then made his cute black belt and used the gold tape for it. And that’s it!! These Santa gift tags worked great for embellishing the cracker.
For the Reindeer’s cracker I used the brown cardstock paper to print out my template, then I just glued the Reindeer gift tag on one side and added a small red pom pom for his nose. And that’s it for the Reindeer!! Super easy!!
They are so cute aren’t they!! They make perfect party favors and stocking stuffers!!
To open a cracker, you just pull on both ends of it, tearing the paper and releasing a fun ”POP” or “CRACK” noise. Then out fall all the goodies!
